11th March 2018, guest from Penyffordd:
"Wonderful warm welcome with homemade chocolate cake and choc chip cookies.
Beautiful comfy bedroom with various teas and caffetierre coffee and fresh milk (a big bonus). Great “rainforest” shower in the underfloor heated bathroom.
The breakfasts were amazing. Delicious local produce and eggs straight from the family’s chickens. Very high quality cooking.
I recommend the Graig very highly.
"We mostly spent our days in Ludlow which we love. We had meals at the Rose and Crown - our hosts gave us directions - lovely pub meals. Very generous portions.
We also went to a Thai restaurant in Ludlow. Very artistically served tasty food. Again extremely generous portions.
Our last lunch was at the Aragon cafe/restaurant which has a very extensive menu. We had fish, chips and peas and the cod was especially delicious.
The castle is very interesting and inexpensive to look around. There is a lovely coffee shop too.
The market is interesting with different stalls each day.
Katy and Lorraine could not have been more helpful or friendly, and the breakfasts and afternoon cakes were to die for. Loved the avocado toast with poached eggs, feta and tomatoes, and the home made granola and compote; in fact all the breakfast choices were superb.
Thank you for the recipes.
Tips for other travellers
As recommended by our hosts, we too would recommend the Church Inn in Ludlow. The Ludlow Food Centre near the race course was also worthy of a foody fix.
13th November 2017, guest from Chesterfield:
"First class accommodation, tastefully furnished, comfortable and with touches of luxury. Some lovely extras such as the bottled water and homemade cake in the room. Wonderful friendly and informative hosts. The breakfast was top class, beautifully cooked and presented and with delicious home made jams and fruit compote. We were made to feel very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would not hesitate in recommending the Graig B&B Ludlow. "
"Ludlow is a charming town with plenty of places to eat. We would recommend Bistro 7 - our meal and wine were superb and the service excellent."
Hotels and B&B's are said to be in the hospitality industry. The Graig B&B really, truly is. We booked randomly from the internet and to our delight had one of the best stays we've had in the UK. Large beautiful gardens, a lovely setting in the Ludlow hills, flowers, chickens, amazing home cooked food, afternoon tea and spacious rooms in a lovely building all helped. But the clincher was the warmth of the two generations of the family who run the Graig. They could not have been friendlier, more thoughtful and more welcoming. Hugely recommended. Will certainly be back.
